Cloud and managed hosting provider Voxel announced on Monday it has appointed Stephen Callahan the company’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.
This is the second major appointment that Voxel has announced this year, following January’s appointment of Raul K. Martynek as CEO and a member of the board of directors.
Callahan has more than 18 years of high tech sales experience to Voxel, having significantly accelerated the revenue growth of several startup, pre-IPO and public companies.
As part of the growth plan implemented with the company’s recent capital raise, Callahan is tasked to build a global sales team, as well as lead Voxel’s sales organisation and channel programs.
Voxel’s lead technologist Sam Machiz will focus on implementation engineering as VP of sales engineering.
In this new role, Callahan will help customers and partners maximise opportunities to adopt Voxel infrastructure services within their organisations while “breaking through the hype around cloud,” says the company.
“We’re very excited to have such a proven sales executive as Steve join the Voxel team,” says Raul K. Martynek, CEO and president at Voxel. “Having worked with Steve in the past and seeing his abilities first hand, I am very confident his experience and leadership in building sales teams will help Voxel to grow.”
Callahan has been a highly successful executive and sales leader in technology and service companies for more than 18 years.
He previously served as vice president of direct sales for Broadview Networks, where he managed a direct sales force of 50 contributors selling technology solutions to the SME marketplace.
Prior to his role at Broadview and its related companies, he was responsible for major and global accounts at MCI Worldcom.
Most recently, he served as SVP of sales at mobile SaaS provider Intergis where he led the company to its best sales year ever and saw through its acquisition by Telogis.
